That’s exactly what we did, ending an intense workday by admiring this wonderful collection of 16th-century engravings. The Doges made Venice one of the leading centers of the emerging art of printmaking, attracting the finest artists and printers from Germany—the birthplace of the printing press… and Bassano was right at the heart of it all!
